Using Standard Parameters with AutoText

An auto-text item's code can contain standard parameters that will be replaced at insertion time with specific values.

To insert a standard parameter into an auto-text item's code:

  1. If the AutoText Manager is not visible, click on the AutoText Manager toolbar button or select the same entry from the CodeSMART main menu (quick toolbar and menu references are available).
  2. If you have not added a new item, use the left-hand tree in order to find the item you want to modify.
  3. Position the cursor in the code text-box to the exact location where the parameter should be inserted.
  4. Click the Standard popup button located in the 'Parameters' section and a popup will be displayed. Select the standard parameter you want to insert. A conventional text representation (reserved word) of the parameter will be inserted into the code text-box.
